Fr. Bill Halbing was the guest speaker at the Family of Faith Community Assembly last Jan. 11, 2009 held at the lower church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Linden, NJ.
Fr. Bill spoke about FOF's current theme : "Surrender yourselves completely to build God's Kingdom here and now." Using Scripture references and a lot of personal experiences,
Fr. Bill spoke about what it means to have a life fully surrendered to
God. His humorous and animated way of delivering his message not only
kept the whole community laughing but brought inspiration,
encouragement and a stronger conviction to live for God's Kingdom.
Fr. Bill is the Pastor of St. Antoninus Church in Newark, NJ. He has spoken in countless conferences, seminars and Bible studies. Still very active in the Catholic Charismatic Movement, Fr. Bill has traveled worldwide to preach evangelization and bring the Gospel of Christ to everyone.

The Family of Faith held its Evangelization Training Weekend last Jan 24-25, 2009 at the lower church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Linden, NJ. The community invited Vic Gutierrez who flew in from Los Angeles, CA to give the three talks on evangelization.
In
his talks, "Kuya" or "Tito" Vic, stressed on the importance and the
urgency of the call to evangelize and share the story of Jesus as we
experience it in our daily lives. He emphasized that while
evangelization is a duty of every
Christian, it is a great privilege as well. He also elaborated on
FOF's mission and call and what it means to be a Community of Disciples
on Mission. Drawing from his vast years of experience in
evangelization, he shared concrete steps on how the community can
pursue its mission of evangelization. His last talk centered on the
Prayer of Jabez (found in 1 Chronicles 4:10) and how it relates to our
work of building and advancing God's Kingdom.
There
were also time for group discussion and sharing. The weekend concluded
with the participants praying over one another for the power and the
grace to evangelize. Indeed, everybody left the Evangelization weekend
all fired up and energized with a renewed desire and a deeper sense of
commitment to do the work of evangelization.
Six
members of the Tahanan Ng Panginoon Community in Washington D.C. and a
brother from Delaware who was a former member of Ligaya Ng Panginoon
were able to attend the two-day event.
Vic Gutierrez was the former Senior Head Coordinator of the Ligaya ng Panginoon Community in the Philippines.
In the early 1980s, he started the family life outreach of Ligaya Ng
Panginoon that became Couples For Christ, a global family renewal
movement. He was instrumental in the formation of Family of Faith as a
Community especially in its early years. He conducted the very first
Community Weekend Retreat of FOF in 2000 and presided over the first
public commitment in 2003. He and his wife Agnes migrated to the U.S.
last year and now live in Los Angeles.
